HEAD Architecture and Design is the Hong Kong based architecture firm who has designed this beautiful apartment interior located in the Discovery Bay area of Hong Kong. The matsuki residence was designed on a tight budget with limited time, two unexceptional apartments have been combined to form what is essentially a single, dramatically conceived space.

This is a new home for a new family, in which the rituals of family life – bathing, playing, eating, sleeping – can be thoroughly re-evaluated, with an open-plan sequence of simple flexible spaces facilitating the informal flow and changing requirements of an expanding family.

Like a blank canvas the spaces are currently rather bare but, as the family grows and memories are created, the walls will quickly fill up.

Austrian Architecture Apartments Building Project Rose am Lend

Located in Graz, Austria, The Rose am Lend is an architectural apartments building project which is consists of 11 apartments that offer urban living spaces in a high-class and the business premises on the ground floor follow the distinctive tradition of commerce and trade, as well as the tradition of the Lendplatz as a market place.

The design of this architecture apartments building borrows from the existing building and includes a rose motif which is a reference to the time when the building was constructed during the baroque period in the 18th century. The building is part of the development and transformation of one of the most complex areas of the city of graz.

Lace apartments, Slovenia by Ofis Arhitekti

This Lace apartments is the latest building by slovenian architecture firm ofis Arhitekti located in the centre of Nova Gorica (population 32.000) – Nova Gorica is situated in the west of Slovenia, adjacent the Slovene – Italian border. It lies 92 meters above sea level. The town has also very specific climate conditions – it is renowned is the hottest town in Slovenia in summer and very strong winds in winter.





















This Lace Apartments uses a three-dimensional lace which embraces the volume of the building. this lace concept is also uses for functional elements such as roofs, pergolas, dividing walls and balconies. these provide protection from the elements and privacy for its inhabitants. Additional aluminium shading panels can be added to shelter the balconies in the winter.




















The building is positioned on the fixed urban plot 48 x 16m x 5 floors. The formal concept reinstates three-dimensional lace which embraces the volume of the building. Furthermore, the lace is transformed into functional elements – projecting roofs, pergolas, apartment dividing walls, terraces and balconies with loggias. These elements are protecting external spaces and interior of apartments and provide additional privacy to inhabitants. Five floors of housing incorporate 70 two, two and a half, or three-bed apartments while two underground floors provide parking space.

Loloma 5, Completely Modern Live | Work Solution by Will Bruder

This Loloma 5 that was designed by Architect Will Bruder is a completely modern Live/Work solution at a new level of urban experience and architectural design. Every unit offers commercial office space, 2 bedrooms, roof terrace, and a view patio aligned with Camelback Mountain. This was the first development in the Loloma Arts District which offers easy access to the very best of historic downtown Scottsdale, including the art centers of Main Street, Marshall Way, transit centers, Canal Front Development and the refurbished Hotel Valley Ho.





















The architecture of Loloma 5 is a thoughtful and sophisticated acknowledgement of the traditional and modern roots of its Old Town Scottsdale context - a place with pride in its false-front, covered boardwalk, 'old west' friendly downtown image. This project creates a live work environment in the heart of Scottsdale that celebrates both the historic and physical context of the place.

The building's vertical scale is tempered with a entry courtyard for the work spaces, along the project's southern edge and a landscaped auto court along the northern edge of the site is veiled behind a perforated metal gate and a living ocotillo fence. The architecture is folded in an angular manner to define each unit and capture, for each, dramatic views of Camelback Mountain.



























Carefully detailed window walls are screened from the sun behind perforated aluminum scrims while private cantilevered balconies project behind aluminum plate railings. In scale, proportion, finely articulated details, massing, and materially, the Loloma 5 live/work project draws carefully from its local context and history, representing an architectural rightness for Scottsdale and its aspirations of design quality and uniqueness.



























A rich palette of Materials includes: sandblasted concrete block, standing seam zinc, corrugated steel, fiberglass and LUMAsite panels, plus a desert inspired vibrant color scheme on the limited stucco surfaces. Interiors feature maple cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, finished concrete, linoleum and commercial carpeted floors and light-filled spaces.

Artist's Apartment and Rooftop Pavillion by Paul Cha Architects

This is a complete project of Artist's Apartment and Rooftop Pavillion by Paul Cha Architects. An intimate 800 square foot apartment is transformed into the pied-a-terre of a young artist. The design addresses the intricate programmatic requirements reflected in the hectic and nomadic lifestyle of the client, as well as orchestrating and detailing the architecture in a way that allows the apartment to feel spatially open and spiritually serene.

Two concerns emerged during the design process : the creation of domestic spaces within an existing irregular building envelope and the important correlation of daylight and view with daily living rituals. These two concerns are interwoven in the creation of an elegant residence reflecting the client's sensibility. Subtle architectural gestures, enmeshing the inward daylight with the outward view, are created to connect the volumetric flow of the public spaces, while the private rooms provide rest and contemplation.



















The focal point of the intervention is the mahogany pilaster / lintel, which serves as a division between the Living Room and Dining Room areas, as well as connecting the front window views. A ladder in the stair halway gives acces to the rooftop pavillion.




















An 350 square foot pavilion is located on top of an East Village townhouse. The site offers a panoramic view of the Manhattan cityscape from the Chrysler Building to the north, to Battery Park City to the south. Similar to the Chinese garden pavilion typology, where a structure is intricately located within a man made landscape by sensitive visual vistas and spatial movements, the terrace pavilion is perceived as a refuge above the surrounding cityscape.




























































The structure consisting of folding planes of simple wood framing with tilted slats as infill, filters vistas of the surrounding skyline and provides shading from the sun. The pavilion inspires silence and reflection, purifying thought and the senses within, as a calming oasis above the chaotic cityscape surrounding it.
